Mr. Sergio Lugaresi, recently appointed Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank, with responsibility also for Italy, met AIICP members on Thursday, December the 10th 2020, to illustrate ADB activities and the possibilities it offers to Italian companies. The Bank was founded in 1966 and has so far supported development projects for about 300 billion, with particular attention to climate change, the environment, agri-food and infrastructures. Its activity is aimed not only at institutions, but also at private companies. Italy, among the founding countries of the ADB, has made relatively little use of its funding and Dr. Lugaresi, who will take up his duties in Manila at the end of the year, wishes to correct this situation by encouraging greater participation of Italian companies, particularly with reference to the Indian market.
